So, I’ll keep this short. Surfing (I want to start using this verb again) around the web, I found out about Dustin Lance Black (the guy who won the Oscar for writing Milk)’s controversial pictures having bareback sex with another man. The reblogged-so-much-it-had-no-comments article I found said the fact that he was having bareback sex was ‘ironic’ because he wrote Milk. Let me make a few things clear:

1. Nobody talks about safe sex in Milk.
2. There is no stereotypical AIDS plotline in the movie.
3. AIDS isn’t the only sexual disease out there.

The only reason these pictures were controversial were because the closet (or open) conservative in the general public thinks a) that anal sex is gross and b) that there are more gay men with AIDS than straight people with AIDS.

Even if the guy advocates safe sex publicly, this wouldn’t be a problem if he was straight. Utopically, one should never have sex without a condom, ever. Then again, one would never have kids “the traditional way”.

I mean, seriously, “Congratulations, you’re pregnant, and by the way you have syphilis.”
